BETA Event
The BETA is our development event where we will test our operating systems and the functions of the competition. This event is intended for beginner to intermediate cosplayers and features a commission prize that can be used by the artist to create their own project or upgrade their equipment and materials. We do not expect master level work. The commission value does not compare to the budget of a commercial level cosplay, but it’s what we’ve got and we plan to put it to good use.

What to Expect
We’re testing core systems, interactive elements, and judging criteria, all while gathering feedback to shape future events into something truly impactful for the communities we want to serve.

We'll be kicking things off with an open cosplay/costume competition before we go live with original characters at the next convention: INSPIRY X SPARK 2027. The BETA serves a secondary purpose for recruitment of cosplayers to exhibit, join our team, and or provide insight to make our future events meaningful to the cosplay community.

All cosplay/costume styles and skill levels are welcome at the BETA event! (Cosplayers/Costumers are only required to build 70% of their cosplay/costume with digital or physical build book)(Yes, Ren Faire is welcome too)

Instead of a traditional stage, we’re using a ground-level runway that extends into the crowd,making the experience more immersive and accessible. This inclusive design ensures all cosplayers/costumers, regardless of physical ability, can participate safely and confidently.

Artist Alley

We are now able to provide three areas to feature artists that focus on original artwork throughout the convention center. This will make it possible for over 50 artists to get their work in front of an audience.

Panels

Through our partnership with the Columbus Arts Council, we have secured an additional stage adjacent to the convention center that will feature FREE panels open to the public.
